The attacker utilized a compromised admin key to create the tokens, borrow $3.45 million in wrapped bitcoin, and launder the funds via Tornado Cash. Echo Protocol has since regained control of its admin keys, burned the remaining 955 eBTC, and paused cross-chain and Aptos bridge operations while conducting a security review.
