Spiral and Block launch Loupe to hunt Bitcoin vulnerabilities

Spiral and Block have launched Loupe, a free, AI-driven security scanning service aimed at protecting the open-source Bitcoin ecosystem. Recognizing that AI lowers the barrier for attackers, the initiative provides developers with defensive tools to identify hidden code flaws in repositories that manage significant financial value. To ensure high accuracy and minimize developer fatigue, Loupe reports only those vulnerabilities backed by demonstrable test cases.

The project currently supports major infrastructure including Bitcoin Core, BDK, and LDK, among others. While Spiral and Block facilitate initial scans, the platform is designed for long-term flexibility, allowing developers to integrate their own AI models. The program focuses on responsible disclosure and streamlining communication between security researchers and maintainers to foster a more resilient Bitcoin development environment.
