Ethereum Foundation rolls out support for Clear Signing crypto security solution

The Ethereum Foundation is enhancing blockchain security by supporting Clear Signing, a solution that provides human-readable descriptions for cryptocurrency transactions, moving away from opaque "blind signing." This initiative includes establishing a public registry for contract descriptors and adopting ERC-7730 as the standard format for these descriptions. Clear Signing aims to improve user understanding by presenting transaction details in an easily digestible manner, such as "swapping 100 USDC for 0.05 ETH on Uniswap," rather than raw hexadecimal data. This move is a response to security vulnerabilities associated with blind signing, which has been exploited in significant hacks. The Ethereum Foundation is also hosting tooling libraries to facilitate adoption by wallets and developers, encouraging them to provide accurate descriptions and for security experts to review them, ultimately making the Ethereum ecosystem safer and more accessible.
