Tether-backed startup Oobit offers AI bots Visa-supported corporate expense cards
Summary
Tether-backed wallet startup Oobit has introduced "Agent Cards," Visa-supported corporate expense cards designed for AI bots. These virtual cards allow AI agents to make purchases directly using a USDT balance without converting to fiat, bypassing the need for human intervention in every approval loop. The cards are usable anywhere Visa is accepted online. Oobit CEO Amram Adar stated that this addresses the emerging challenge of liability in autonomous payments as agentic commerce grows. The Agent Cards feature corporate controls similar to human expense cards, including one card per agent, category-level spend limits, and per-transaction/merchant caps, with no override option. All transactions, approved or declined, will be logged with a human-readable reason for automated expense reporting. The integration also supports payment processing for subscriptions and vendor payouts via Stripe and other solutions. Oobit aims for these cards to be the first step towards autonomous financial operations for AI agents.
