Creators can opt into this service to receive payments directly into crypto wallets on the Solana and Polygon blockchains. While Meta does not offer an in-app conversion to fiat currency, requiring an external exchange, this move aims to provide faster settlement and access to dollar-denominated assets for creators. The service is currently limited to select creators in the two initial countries. This initiative follows Meta's previous attempt with the Diem stablecoin project, which was scrapped in 2022 due to regulatory challenges. USDC is the second-largest stablecoin by market capitalization, following Tether's USDt.
