Meta begins offering USDC creator payouts to crypto wallets on Solana and Polygon blockchains

Meta has introduced a new feature enabling creators to receive payouts in USDC (USD Coin) directly to their cryptocurrency wallets on the Solana and Polygon blockchains. This option is available on a support page and allows creators to choose this method for receiving their earnings. Meta advises creators to ensure they use wallet addresses that specifically support USDC on either Solana or Polygon, as funds sent to unsupported addresses or networks cannot be recovered. The company also provides instructions for creators to convert their USDC earnings into local currency. Stripe will serve as the payments provider for these stablecoin payouts, and users may receive crypto-related reporting from Stripe for tax purposes. Meta previously had an internal digital assets payment division called Libra, which was later rebranded as Diem before being shut down due to regulatory scrutiny.
