BitMEX Enables Off-Exchange Trading Via Zodia Custody

BitMEX has launched a partnership with Zodia Custody to enable institutional and professional clients to trade derivatives without pre-funding the exchange. By utilizing Zodia Custody’s Interchange solution, traders can keep their assets in segregated, secure vaults while still accessing BitMEX’s perpetual swaps and futures. This integration is designed to improve capital efficiency, mitigate operational risks, and enhance security by mirroring assets for trading execution rather than requiring direct transfers. BitMEX CEO Stephan Lutz stated that this move addresses lessons learned from high-profile industry failures, such as the FTX collapse and the Bybit hack, aiming to bring traditional finance-style custody standards to the cryptocurrency market.
