The Royal Government of Bhutan and its investment arm, Druk Holding & Investment, have continued to offload Bitcoin from sovereign-linked wallets. A recent transfer of 319 BTC, valued at approximately $22.68 million, brings the total reduction to over 9,000 BTC since October 2024. Bhutan's total holdings have now fallen from 13,000 BTC to 3,654 BTC, a decline of roughly 70%. Despite this, the nation remains the fifth-largest publicly tracked state holder of Bitcoin. The government has not provided public comments on these sales, which originate from its state-backed mining operations utilizing carbon-free hydropower.
