OKX launches in-app social networking feature to reduce ‘trust gap’ among traders
Summary
Crypto exchange OKX has launched Orbit, a new in-app social networking feature rolling out in beta to select users. Orbit is designed to address the "trust gap" prevalent in social trading communities where performance claims often lack verification. The feature integrates social elements like market discussions, livestreams, group chats, and "cashtags" directly with trading tools, allowing users to optionally disclose verified metrics such as portfolio performance and win rates. OKX Managing Partner Haider Rafique stated the goal is to give traders a native channel to share performance interpretations. This move aligns with industry trends, following Binance's introduction of Binance Square, and comes as OKX recently secured an investment from ICE, the parent company of the NYSE, at a $25 billion valuation.
