Hacker Steals $2.7M From Solv’s Bitcoin Yield Platform

Solv Protocol, a Bitcoin-based DeFi platform, suffered an exploit resulting in the loss of $2.7 million from one of its token vaults, impacting fewer than 10 users. The project has offered the attacker a 10% bounty to return the stolen 38.05 Solv Protocol BTC (SolvBTC). Security researchers suggest the attack stemmed from a vulnerability in a smart contract that allowed the hacker to mint an internal token excessively, which was then swapped for SolvBTC. One researcher described the exploit as a re-entrancy attack. Solv has implemented preventative measures, is investigating with firms like Hypernative Labs, SlowMist, and CertiK, and has provided an Ethereum wallet address for the bounty return, though the hacker has not yet responded.
