Solv Protocol says exploit drained $2.7 million from Bitcoin yield vault
Summary
Bitcoin-centric DeFi platform Solv Protocol reported a "limited exploit" affecting one of its Bitcoin Reserve Offerings (BRO) token vaults, impacting fewer than 10 users. The protocol announced it would cover the losses, totaling 38.0474 SolvBTC, valued at approximately $2.7 million at the time of the attack. Security analysis suggests the attacker exploited a double-minting flaw in the 'BitcoinReserveOffering' contract, allowing them to mint excessive BRO tokens which were then swapped for SolvBTC. Solv Protocol confirmed that all other vaults and user funds remain secure and stated they are investigating with security partners like Hypernative Labs, SlowMist, and CertiK. The protocol has offered the exploiter a 10% white hat bounty to return the stolen funds.
