Trump-Linked American Bitcoin (ABTC) Expands Mining Fleet, Bitcoin Production Capacity
Summary
American Bitcoin Corp. (ABTC) announced a significant expansion of its Bitcoin mining operations, adding 11,298 new miners to boost its total owned capacity by approximately 3.05 exahash per second (EH/s). This brings the total fleet to about 28.1 EH/s across 89,242 miners, with an average efficiency of 16 J/TH. The new, highly efficient machines are slated for deployment at the Drumheller site in March 2026. The company's strategy focuses on acquiring Bitcoin below market prices using high-efficiency hardware to maintain a structural advantage. Co-founder Eric Trump noted the company holds over 6,000 BTC, up from 5,401 at the end of last year. Executives stressed that this expansion aims to grow American-owned, professionally operated hashrate to secure the network and support Bitcoin accumulation goals. Despite this operational growth, ABTC stock, which debuted in September 2025, has experienced significant volatility, trading near $0.987 a share, well below its initial highs, amid broader crypto sell-offs and quarterly losses.
